According to this survey there are about 1.3 million Chicanos (or Latinos) or 4.3% of Chicanos who say they are down. But homiez know that there are more vato locos who are gay/bi. Right? What about the cute homie down the street? Sure he didn't take this survey, but his hyna and this survey don't know what really goes down when he hangs out with his favorite homeboy in his garage. She doesn't need to know. Cuz love for your homie is much more powerful than that for your bitch or hyna. But whateverz, here 's what the survey said:
"UCLA Williams Institute just released a new report estimating that 1.4 million, or 4.3 percent, of the Latino adults in the U.S. identify themselves as LGBT. The same survey indicated that the nationwide self-identifying LGBT population rate is slightly lower, 3.5 percent."4.3% might be those homeboyz who are eager to tell everybody that they are down, which is cool. And we Chicanos outnumber other foos who are down is pretty slick and shit.
But this survey doesn't really count homiez who are really down with showing some love. These homiez have at least once or twice been down with it in their lives and we think they account for majority of homeboyz in the Latino community. Homeboys know whats down, and we don't need a survey to show that. It's pretty cool though. Cuz the survey shows that Latinos and Chicanos are more down and cool with gay/bi love than other razas. La raza, we know how to handle.
And for you 'straight' homiez: don't be hating. Just remember the good times you spent with your homeboy alone at the park at night. Those memories will always follow you, not to scare you, but let you know that HEY - you are down. You are a vato loco that is attractive and that at least somebody out there, besides your wife/hyna actually loved you.
